For geological questions e.g. in the context of dismantling extensions we can already in the apron of the investigation without plant of digging or complex drillings:
- determine geological ressources
- exploration
- mapping of geological fault zones
- groundwater surface detection
Geophysical mapping near the surface is inserted frequently with archaeological questions or also the investigation by refuse dumps. Ground based radar makes possible for example to focus the investigation depth by variation of the probe frequencies on a certain range. In combination with the cesium magnetometer the most diverse objects can be seized and be located in their spatial situation:
- Walls and stone setting
- former ditches and replenishments, post holes
- former ways
- tools, ceramic(s), metal objects ...
- Lines, pipelines
- Graves
With the employment of non destructiv geophysical methods often substantial costs of excavations or drillings can be saved and to be specified the past realizations over the underground. The cartographic representation of the results of measurement and common visualization with different basic data in the GIS (aerial photographs, excavation plans, sketches, geological maps, topographic maps), often clarify connections, which are recognizable only in such a synopsis. It helps to co-ordinate you your further construction measures and plan still better.
